What is it / how does it work
Hyperhidrosis is the medical term for excessive sweating that can affect any part of the body. When treated it can be reduced by up to 95%.
Botox ® is injected into the areas of concern, namely the underarms, but feet and hands can be treated
What can it treat
It reduces the amount of sweat that is being over produced in these areas, that causes patients physical, physical & emotional distress.
How is it performed
A small amount of Botox is injected into 10 to 15 places about 1.5 – 2cm apart. The procedure takes approximately 30 minutes.
There can be a certain amount of discomfort but because the skin of the armpit is thin, hyperhidrosis treatment there is barely felt. However, treatment in the hands & feet is considerably more uncomfortable so the use of a topical anesthetic is applied prior to treatment.
When can I see results
Results can take up to 14 days to have full effect. Results last approx. 7 months depending on individual
