Tear Trough Treatment
What is it / how does it work
Eye trough rejuvenation a non-surgical treatment is appropriate for some patients with lower eyelid dark circles/dark hollows.
What can it treat
In the lower eyelid and in the cheek area (the “mid-face”) a loss of soft tissue volume tends to accentuate the appearance of the lower bony orbital margin which lies between the lower eyelid and the cheek. This also leads to the appearance of lower eyelid fat pockets and together these can lead to a “tear trough” depression, or dark shadow or hollow.
How is it performed
At Kallista Aesthetics we use small innovative micro cannulae to give precise injections of dermal filler along the eyelid hollows to reverse the effects noted above. This procedure should only be carried out by an experienced advanced aesthetic practitioner such as Advanced Nurse Prescriber Karen Hamberg – Owner of Kallista Aesthetics. Some patients may not be suitable for this procedure and may need alternative methods to treat their tear troughs. Patients may benefit from a combination of cosmetic eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) and tear trough injections. This can also be used in synergy with cheek dermal filler injections to achieve a dramatic desirable look. We will be able to advise about the best option for you.
